Slow build to a realization. Made some sounds for a film i worked on. Thought i should share since i use so many of the sounds from this website. =).

I had left my recorder near the woods for a 20 minute recording of the natual sounds. When i reviewed the file i found the attached sound where a flying insect had buzzed the microphone.

This is a noise i found while listening to a recorded track that i thought sounded interesting, so i worked with it for a bit, eliminated all the extraneous noise, and amplified it to max volume without (unwanted) distortion.

I have this drummer's stool that creaks when you rotate it. So this is that sound. Metal scraping against metal through reverb, echo, and harmony pedals into a delay/looper.

An antique underwood no. 11 typewriter, ca. 1925. Sound was recorded on a zoom h4 in a sound booth. However, it didn't have a bell or a platen, so the key is hitting the platen of another typewriter from the 1970s. Audio cleaned up in audacity. Used shotgun shells falling onto a hard surface. I recorded this sound myself using the mic on my computer and some empty shotgun shells i found by simply dropping them on the floor.

Very short tick. This is a sound i found on my forest recording. Something must have fallen on my mics. It made a very nice, clean and natural tick sound. I cut it out from the ambient sound normalized, made a little fade-out and saved as 24-bit flac. The original recording was 96khz/24bit.
